Multidisciplinary artist EJ SON will be participating in an artist residency at The Lock-Up for the development of their work to be featured in upcoming exhibition PLAYGROUND.

Newcastle’s long awaited and favourite night of art mayhem is BACK… strap yourself in and get ready for THE BENDER 2022!!

Deborah Kelly will be completing multiple artist residencies at The Lock-Up over this period for the development, installation and subsequent public programming for her upcoming exhibition CREATION.

CREATION is a new religion, manifesting in spectacle and intimacy. A faith, a gathering of intention and purpose with which to face an era when paid opinion trumps environmental evidence. CREATION proposes a crowd-sourced belief system teeming with pleasures and possibilities.

Artist Meng-Yu Yan will be participating in an artist residency for the installation of their work in the exhibition PLAYGROUND.

A group exhibition featuring artists Lucas Abela, Kalanjay Dhir, Oliver Harlan and Meng-Yu Yan and newly commissioned works by Billy Bain, Tiyan Baker and EJ Son.

Alex Seton will be completing a residency at The Lock-Up for the install of his upcoming solo exhibition.

In this exhibition of new work, multidisciplinary artist Alex Seton will explore the possibilities of combining glass and stone to consider the themes of memory and place and how they relate to Australia’s history of migration.
