Newcastle Writers Festival & The Lock-Up presents: Read The Roo

Enjoy a relaxed afternoon of reading, guided conversation and community at Newcastle Writers Festival’s fifth reading party, this time held at The Lock-Up. Bring your current book, discover new favourites, and enjoy the atmosphere among fellow readers.

Solo readers are particularly welcome!

To celebrate in the spirit of the location, perhaps bring along a true crime read! (Though of course, whatever you’re currently reading is perfectly okay.)

The Lock-Up does not have an onsite cafe, but drinks will be available for purchase. Refreshments will be available to purchase at nearby cafes; please allow time to purchase prior to arrival.

This is a free community event hosted by Newcastle Writers Festival. Donations are appreciated to help us continue this popular series of reading parties, bringing together book-lovers across Newcastle and the Hunter.

This event is hosted by Newcastle Writers Festival in collaboration with The Lock-Up.

ACCESSIBILITY:

The Lock-Up offers wheelchair access at the main entrance, accessible amenities, and designated accessible street parking.

Seating is available, however, if you require a seat and there isn’t one available, please let a staff member know.
