WRITER IN RESIDENCE / Lieke van den Krommenacker
12th October – 13th October, 2026
Lieke van den Krommenacker is a cultural journalist, writer, bookseller and poet on the fringes. She can also make crêpes and dance the boogie-woogie. She loves writing about life and literature – preferably by the sea. Or overseas.
Her journalistic work appears in the Dutch cultural magazine VPRO Gids and the magazine LETTER, published by Leeuwarden City of Literature. Last year, she published short stories for a project called Small Happiness (Leeuwarden City of Literature) and in the literary magazine Hollands Maandblad. Since 2025, she has been involved as a workshop leader with Buur & Boek (Neighbour & Book), an initiative on promoting mental health and wellbeing that brings local residents together through literature and poetry. Last year she was awarded a grant that enables her to work on a novel in short stories about a sauna by the sea.
Lieke will be completing a short residency at The Lock-Up in partnership with Hunter Writers’ Centre.
