ARTIST IN RESIDENCE / Agus Wijaya

Born in Cianjur, West Java, Agus Wijaya is an Indonesian of Chinese background living and working in Sydney.
His work has been exhibited at the Institute of Modern Art as part of the churchie and selected as a finalist in the Dobell Drawing Prize, Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize, North Sydney Art Prize, Fisher’s Ghost Art Award, Incinerator Art Award and the Blake Prize at Liverpool Powerhouse.
He has participated in Sydney Contemporary, Aotearoa Art Fair and Art Jakarta, and in a group show in Indonesia (cur. Jennifer Yang) to commemorate the 50th anniversary of ASEAN–Australia relations.
He has been commissioned by Passage Gallery, Fairfield City Museum & Gallery and Newcastle Art Gallery.
