In Light of the Dark
Pocketbook Poetry Response to Into the Dark
Thursday 10 September, 6-7:30pm
Join Newcastle poetry collective Pocketbook for an immersive after-hours response to Wendy Sharpe’s major solo exhibition, Into the Dark.
Moving together through the exhibition, audiences will encounter selected poets performing original responses to individual artworks. Through poetry, exchange and gentle participation, the evening will reflect on Sharpe’s exploration of war, the climate crisis and the decline of truth, asking whether naming our collective fears can transform paralysis into awareness and resistance.
Interested in responding to a Wendy Sharpe artwork as one of the selected poets? Contact pocketb00k@outlook.com before purchasing a ticket.
Performing poets do not need to purchase a ticket.
