ARTIST IN RESIDENCE / Girl On Road

The Lock-Up welcomes Melbourne-based artist Girl On Road, ahead of an upcoming group exhibition in late 2024.
Utilising the The Lock-Up’s Residency is Girl On Road (GOR), undertaking research for an upcoming group exhibition at The Lock-Up. GOR will be working on a new commission in the form of multimedia installation, utilising coding practices to explore image decomposition, transparency, and unpredictability.
ABOUT GIRL ON ROAD
GOR draws connections in the disconnect, through digital pulses and energetic waves. The creative studio of Melbourne-based artist and interaction designer, Matilda Sutherland, GOR’s work spans sound, installation, code, and design – exploring our perception of technology and the experience of being on- and off- line. GOR seeks to lift the veil of obfuscation emboldening technocratic elites, through [re]wilding digital infrastructure and realising poetic potential in the technology around us.

Vicky Browne will be participating in an Artist Residency at The Lock-Up for the research and development of her work for the exhibition PROMISE THE EARTH opening late June 2022.
