Artist Hannah Furmage is undertaking a research residency building on a project that will be included in The Lock-Up’s 2017 Artistic Program.
Hannah Furmage is an Australian performance installation artist. Her work aims to achieve an art of destabilisation, creating a poetic of sabotage through apparently random acts of provocation.
Furmage has held solo exhibitions at Artspace Sydney 2004/2008, Raid Projects, Los Angeles 2008, La Curtiduria Mexico 2010 and most recently at El Espacio Aglutinador in Havana, Cuba 2015.
Furmage’s work has been curated into group exhibitions at; Artbar MCA 2013, Alaska Projects 2013, First Draft 2012 and Artspace 2011.
Her latest work The Villawood Project was developed during an artist in residency at Ashfield Council in 2016. This residency at The Lock-Up will provide a research platform for inclusion in a group exhibition at The Lock-Up in 2017.
