Set on a remote rural estate in Russia during the late 19th century, tensions run high for a family trying to survive and retain their privileges.
As the characters struggle to come to terms with their fading youth, lost opportunities, yet to be determined futures, and an environmental crisis, Chekov dazzles us with his acute understanding of our timeless human contradictions, and questions our ability to change.
