STEVE DUTTON
Steve Dutton will complete an Artist in Residence at The Lock-Up as part of his research and installation of the exhibition Midpointness at the Lock-Up from 23 – 26 September 2015.
Steve Dutton features in Midpointness, an evolving curatorial and artistic project (in collaboration with Andrew Bracey ) that explores ways in which works of art might be understood as ‘being in the midst’; a place W. T. J. Mitchell has usefully described as an “inescapable zone of transaction”.
Dutton will be the keynote speaker in Next to Nothing: Art as Performance Symposium held in conjunction with the Midpointness exhibition.
Dutton is Professor in Contemporary Art Practice at the School of Fine and Performing Arts, University of Lincoln, UK, where he is developing Artistic Research and National and International Networks. He is an artist/academic with an international profile who works on both collaborative and individual projects.
Steve Dutton is also creating a blog documenting this experience.
