Catapult Dance’s youth initiative: The Flipside Project in partnership with The Lock-Up, responds to the exhibition ‘Transmission.’
The Lock-Up – 6pm and 7.30pm Friday 3 November 2017.
Catapult Dance – 6pm and 7.30pm Saturday 4th November (selection of exhibition works will travel to Catapult for this event)

Catapult Dance’s youth initiative: The Flipside Project (recipient of a 2017 Australian Dance Award) in partnership with The Lock-Up, responds to the exhibition Transmission curated by Cherie Johnson.
Junior and Senior ensembles working with choreographers: Cadi McCarthy, Jo Clancy (Wagana Dancers), Natasha Rogers (NAISDA graduate), Omer Backley-Astrachan and Skip Willcox will look at themes relating to translations across culture and communication transpiring into a full-length work. The Project will include original music by Newcastle composer Zackari Watt and film by cinematographer Ashley de Prazer.

ABOUT TRANSMISSION
Transmission explores the ways contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artist are responding to the resurgence in traditional practices, knowledge and understandings and their place in the contemporary cultural context.
Curated by Cherie Johnson, Transmission features works by Billy and Lulu Cooley, Jason Coulthard, Ruby Djikarra Alderton, Cherie Johnson, Nicole Monks, David Leha, Steaphan Paton and Vicki West.
