INTRO TO BRUSH LETTERING WORKSHOP
Interested in refining expressive lettering with a brush? Then this one’s for you.
1-4PM SATURDAY 12 DECEMBER 2015
PRESENTED BY LOOK SEE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE LOCK-UP
In this 3-hour class you’ll learn the basic skills needed to create expressive lettering using a brush. The class will begin by exploring calligraphic principles using a Tombow brush pen, learning how to create letters from a series of strokes. Then using a round brush Jess will explore experimental styles and other techniques, encouraging you to find your own unique style. Along the way she will also discuss elements of composition such as hierarchy, rhythm, spacing, and flourishing, so you can leave with the skills to create a finished lettering piece.
Participants will take home a pen and brush used on the day, along with worksheets developed to help you further your practice at home.
REQUIREMENTS: Please bring a pencil, eraser, ruler, and a word or phrase you would like to letter. Also we may be getting a little messy with ink, so dress with this in mind!
Tickets are limited. $55 Student / $65 Non-student
