ABOUT JAMIE NORTH
Born in Newcastle and now residing in Sydney, Jamie North works across sculptural installation and photography often combining the waste products of industry and native Australian flora and plant species. Recent solo exhibitions include Rock Melt, National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne (2015); Terraforms, Sarah Cottier Gallery, Sydney (2014); and inner outer, Sarah Cottier Gallery, Sydney (2013). In 2016, Jamie was commissioned to produce a new work for The Future is Already Here – It’s Just Not Evenly Distributed, 20th Biennale of Sydney. Jamie North is represented by Sarah Cottier Gallery.
ABOUT SALLY BOURKE
Sally Bourke was born in Dubbo but has resided in Newcastle for the last 20 years. Originally an abstract painter, Sally has returned to her portrait practice capturing the enigmatic features of those around her. Brutal is her first solo exhibition in Newcastle in 9 years. Sally Bourke’s work is included in many private collections in Australia and around the world.
