Madison Bycroft
Madison Mycroft will undertake a research and production residency at The Lock-Up in preparation for the exhibition GESTURE & PRESENCE which opens at The Lock-Up in November 2017.
Madison Bycroft was born in 1987 and is an artist from Adelaide, Australia, who lives and works between her hometown and Rotterdam, the Netherlands. She works in video, performance, sculpture, sound and text.
Madison thinks of her practice as an ongoing conversation that privileges listening and shared silence as much as speaking. Her conversations crystalise in questions through performance, exhibition or other presentation.
She is a recent graduate of the Piet Zwart Institute of Fine Art, in Rotterdam, which she attended with the support of the Anne and Gordon Samstag Scholarship. She has exhibited in Primavera: Young Australian Artists at the MCA in Sydney curated by Mikala Dwyer, and was resident at ISCP in Brookly, New York.
This residency will provide Madison will the opportunity of both research and production in the lead up to the exhibition GESTURE & PRESENCE: JACOBUS CAPONE & MADISON BYCROFT opening at The Lock-Up in November 2017.
