Opposed

As Artist in Residence at The Lock-Up in June, Biljana Jancic has drawn on Nobby’s breakwall as inspiration for site-specific spatial drawings for Opposed. Using aluminimum tape Jancic references themes of divergence, fissures, drifts, clefts and light spills that dramatise the tension between the forces of nature and the defiance of Newcastle’s iconic convict-built breakwall.
